Florida Career College

Florida Career College has been specializing in career training since 1982. All our programs are specially designed with employers' requirements in mind. We train individuals who want to succeed in the fields of Nursing, Allied Health, Cosmetology, Information Technology, Business and Wellness (Clinical Skin Care and Massage Therapy).

Students benefit from flexible day, evening, and weekend classes, along with up-to-date comprehensive courses and I-20 Student Visa authorization. Individual tutoring is available to help students receive extra instruction as needed. Graduate employment assistance through the Career Services representatives helps students craft resumes, polish interviewing skills, and build relationships with local employers.

The Financial Services Office at Florida Career College is dedicated to helping students find ways to finance their education. Your Financial Aid representative will explain your many options relative to grants, loans and scholarships.

    The fast paced business world depends on efficiency. Networking specialists earn great salaries connecting business computers together to make efficient systems. You will be prepared to repair computers, troubleshoot networks, analyze, design, and implement upgrades on popular network operating systems.
  • Associates Degree - Health Insurance Billing and CodingAssociates Degree - Health Insurance Billing and Coding
    The mission of the Health Insurance Billing and Coding Program is to provide students with the medical and technical knowledge necessary to perform manual and computerized tasks expected of medical billers and coders in today's healthcare industry. Students gain an understanding of the ethics and legal issues of the allied health professions.
  • Associates Degree - Medical AssistantAssociates Degree - Medical Assistant
    The mission of the Medical Assistant Program is to prepare students for employment as Medical Assistants who will work in doctor's offices, clinics, and/or nursing homes. Students are prepared according to the Commission on Accreditation for Allied Health Programs (CAAHEP) Standards.
  • Associate's Degree - Medical Office AdministratorAssociate's Degree - Medical Office Administrator
    Upon completion, the graduate will possess working knowledge in the elements of Medical Assisting and Medical Coding and Billing including medical terminology, anatomy, human diseases, pharmacology, basic medical office procedures and clinical medical assisting skills. Students will learn front office procedures such as handling patient accounts and records, word processing, and scheduling of patients.
  • Associate's Degree - Nursing RNAssociate's Degree - Nursing RN
    In all States, the District of Columbia, and U.S. territories, students must graduate from an approved nursing program and pass a national licensing examination, known as the National Council Licensure Examination, or NCLEX-RN, in order to obtain a nursing license. Other eligibility requirements for licensure vary by State. Contact your State's board of nursing for details.
  • Associate's Degree - Professional Sales & Customer ServiceAssociate's Degree - Professional Sales & Customer Service
    The Associate of Science Professional Sales & Customer Service builds upon the Diploma program in exploring broader and more sophisticated sales and servicing principles and techniques including integrated branding, critical thinking, and legal and ethical considerations for selling in particular and business in general. The student will also begin to use and understand computer applications including spreadsheets and basic accounting, so vital to the sales process. At this level, personal professional development is also approached on an intra-relationship basis. The program concludes with our "Capstone" project, requiring students to apply concepts, techniques, and skills learned in their program of study by completing a comprehensive simulated project.

    This program will prepare students for a successful career in health information management. Students will be provided with the necessary healthcare and managerial skills that are needed, as well as the fundamental principles of this field. Our courses focus not only on medical assisting and administration skills, but on teaching students how to make important health administrative decisions correctly. The skills taught in this program are an invaluable asset to hospitals, health care agencies, and any other area of medicine that requires health information management.

    This degree program prepares students with the core management and information systems courses necessary to lead successful careers in both areas. With the combined required general education courses and advanced technical courses including computer forensics and database management systems, students are exposed to the knowledge needed to impact their chosen careers, which includes professions as a network administrator, technology coordinator, system analyst, or technology security specialist.

    The mission of the Clinical Skin Care Program is to provide comprehensive training and practice in skin care treatment that prepares students to enter the workforce as a skin care practitioner.
  • Diploma - Computer Network TechnicianDiploma - Computer Network Technician
    This program takes a "hands-on" approach in teaching students how to become a successful computer network technician. Students will begin by learning basic computer fundamentals, as well as computer repair and maintenance. Courses then progress to more advanced studies, including administering, troubleshooting and supporting network systems. Students are also asked to apply their skills in installation, design and implementation in real world environments. After completing this program, graduates can work in a bevy of areas that range from small businesses to large corporations.
  • Diploma - Computer Repair TechnicianDiploma - Computer Repair Technician
    In no time at all, you'll have the skills and confidence to enter the field of computer repair and maintenance. This program includes the servicing of computer and peripheral equipment. Students practice techniques to assemble computers, analyze and repair malfunctions, and gain "hands-on" experience with modern equipment.
  • Diploma - Cosmetology (12 month program)Diploma - Cosmetology (12 month program)
    This program will develop students' technical skills as well as offer personal professional development. Cosmetologists offer a wide range of beauty services, such as shampooing, haircutting, coloring, chemical reconstruction, styling of hair, add hair extensions, as well as the cleaning and styling of wigs. In addition, cosmetologists will be trained to give manicures, pedicures, artificial nails, facials, facial make-up and waxing.

    This program prepares students for a career in the fastest growing segment of natural health care, massage therapy. Students will study and learn the various different elements of the human body, such as anatomy and physiology, pathology, joint movement and much more. They are also taught other valuable skills that will help in their chosen career, such as human relation skills, health and safety practices and CPR. A wide variety of career opportunities are available upon completion of this program, with graduates going on to work in such facilities as spas, physicians' offices, chiropractic centers and health clubs.

    The mission of the Medical Assistant Program is to prepare students for employment as Medical Assistants who will work in doctor's offices, clinics, and/or nursing homes. Students are prepared according to the Commission on Accreditation for Allied Health Programs (CAAHEP) Standards.
  • Diploma - Medical Assistant TechnicianDiploma - Medical Assistant Technician
    Upon completion, the graduate will possess a working knowledge in medical terminology, anatomy, human diseases, pharmacology, basic medical office procedures and clinical medical assisting skills. Students will learn front office procedures such as handling patient accounts and records, word processing, and scheduling of patients. The students will also learn back office procedures such as taking patient histories and vital signs, preparing patients for procedures, assisting the physician with examinations and treatments, and performing selected diagnostic tests as directed by the physician. The medical assistant technician will also learn basic medical laboratory and X-ray procedures.
  • Diploma - Medical Coding and Billing SpecialistDiploma - Medical Coding and Billing Specialist
    Upon completion, the graduate will possess a working knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, human diseases, pharmacology, and basic medical coding and billing skills. The program includes courses in medical documentation, translating this into numerical codes, and assigning and sequencing diagnostic and procedural codes using universally recognized coding systems.

    The mission of the Networking and Internet Security Program is to provide theory and practice to individuals who are seeking a career as a Network and Internet Security Specialist where they will be providing support as an assistant network administrator and network security analyst.
  • Diploma - Patient Care TechnicianDiploma - Patient Care Technician
    This program is designed to give students a comprehensive education as a Patient Care Technician, focusing on essential skill building that includes; Occupational Therapy, Radiology, Respiratory and Geriatric Skills, in addition to advanced home health aide and CRP training and HIV/AIDS Awareness.

    Graduates qualified to take the Florida Certified Nurse Assistant and Home Health Aide certification exams and the National Certified Patient Care Technician (CPCT) examination.

  • Diploma - Professional Sales & Customer ServiceDiploma - Professional Sales & Customer Service
    The highly interactive Professional Sales & Customer Service Diploma program is designed to teach students to apply practical sales techniques in a range of situations, to act as intermediaries between customers and suppliers, and to comprehend the complex interrelationships between the salesperson and the other components of business. Graduates of the Sales program are qualified for positions with for small and medium-sized manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers where they would be responsible for servicing existing customers, creating and making sales presentations, closing sales, performing post-sale service and acting as field market research resources for customer needs. Also included in the coursework are negotiation and contract sales, business communications and sales force leadership.
  • Physical Therapist AssistantPhysical Therapist Assistant
    The PTA uses physical treatment procedures to help improve mobility and relieve pain and disability caused by disease or injury. Treatments may include therapeutic exercise, therapeutic activities, neuromuscular re-education, gait training, soft tissue mobilization, ROM, and modalities in accordance with the plan of care. The PTA communicates regularly with the supervising physical therapist, nurses, nurse practitioners, physicians, and other medical staff.
